The One Utah Service Fellowship will help Support debt-free pathways to college while engaging students across the state in solving problems in their communities.
In it’s inaugural year, the Fellowship will be launched in partnership with 9 of Utah’s colleges and universities and more than 150 non-profit or government agencies. 857 Fellows to tackle statewide challenges in this state service program.
This initiative has three core goals:
Goal 1
Create a generation of civic-minded leaders with the ability to bridge divides and solve problems.
Goal 2
Help Utah students graduate college on time and with less debt.
Goal 3
Address societal challenges and help build more equitable communities across Utah.
The One Utah Service Fellowship will provide more than 850 college students with opportunities to support and learn from community-based organizations working in four priority areas: K-12 education, K-16 college preparation and access, healthcare and capacity building.
The One Utah Service Fellowship Programs are comprised of 4 components:
[Experience] Fellows are placed at a nonprofit organization or government agency and work full-time under the mentorship of a senior-level professional
[Exploration] Fellows attend an orientation and frequent seminars to strengthen their understanding of the sector in which they are placed
[Exposure] Fellows attend meetings and networking events, and are given opportunities to connect with Utah’s leaders
[Engagement] Fellows mobilize community members in groups of 5 or more to engage in a volunteer project that supports the Fellow’s Placement Site or the Community their site directly impacts.
