Why Should I Join the Fellowship Program?

We are excited to invite students across the state to consider making community service a core part of their college experience and preparation for future careers.

UHEAN Fellows will be placed in community-based organizations working in K-12 education, K-16 college preparation and access, healthcare, and capacity building. As part of the service experience, Fellows will earn on average the equivalent of a pell grant (currently $6,895), receive ongoing training, and become part of a statewide cohort of young leaders across Utah. Undergraduate students at any partner campus of the Utah Higher Education AmeriCorps Network are invited to apply via the links below.

Students who complete 300, 450, or 675 hours of service as a UHEAN Fellow will receive the following benefits:

  • An Education Award upon completion based on the amount of hours completed, up to 4 service terms.

  • Access to Free Member Assistance Counseling and Referral Program

  • Academic credit (amount and type to be determined by each partner campus);

  • A real-world job experience and skills to add to their resume;

  • Access to training, networking, and professional development opportunities;

  • Certificate of Completion and Optional Letter of Recommendation

  • Student Loan Interest Payments for Qualified Loans

  • A sense of pride and accomplishment in working toward a common purpose alongside young leaders from across the state.
